About EVA

East Village Arts (EVA) is a community arts organization dedicated to sustaining creativity and strengthening community in Birmingham’s East Lake neighborhood. We believe that creativity, diversity, and collaboration are essential to a healthy and thriving city.

EVA provides affordable studio space, performance and exhibition venues, and community arts programs that welcome people of all backgrounds and skill levels. Our goal is to nurture emerging and established artists alike—supporting visual arts, music, poetry, and performance as pathways for expression, connection, and renewal.

By anchoring an “East Village” in Birmingham, we are helping to revitalize East Lake as a creative destination—one where artists and neighbors come together to learn, share, and imagine what’s possible.

As a nonprofit, EVA is a public trust—open, inclusive, and committed to fostering an environment of respect, collaboration, and artistic freedom for all.
